Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the office located?

12008 S Shore Blvd #107-1, Wellington, FL, 33414. We are located in the heart of Wellington inside the Chancellor building. The convenient location serves the Western communities of Palm Beach County including but not limited to Wellington, Royal Palm Beach, Western Lake Worth, Belle Glade, Loxahatchee & Acreage. Telehealth options are also available for all clients in the State of Florida.

Do you offer online counseling?

Yes! In addition to in person, we do offer telehealth via a secure video platform from the comfort of your home. This will save you time and traveling expenses. All you need is an electronic device, such as a tablet, cell phone, or computer with access to the internet.

What are your hours?

Flexibility is one of my strengths, as I know it is very much a need for couples and their families. Availability is offered Monday-Friday from 8:00am until 8:00pm.

How long are sessions and for how many weeks?

Sessions are typically 50 minutes. Weekly sessions are most encouraged when initially beginning therapy, however flexibility can occur with clinical recommendation based on client needs. It is very hard to predict the length of treatment required, though from my experience the earlier you come in, the less sessions are needed. Most couples start to see progress after 8 consistent, weekly sessions. Many couples find a few sessions are sufficient, while others elect to continue long-term (over 20 sessions). We can work together to figure out the best fit for your needs during the free 15-minute phone consultation.

How much do you charge?

Individual therapy is $175.00 & Couples therapy is $225.00. Sliding fee scale can be applied when available. I also accept PBCFR EAP. If you can’t afford my rate, don’t let that discourage you from contacting me, I know what it can be like to finally be ready to ask for help and continue to hit barriers to finding help. Even though I might not be the best fit financially for you, I may be able to refer you to other therapists who may be able to accommodate your financial situation.

Do you take insurance?

No, but if you have Out of Network benefits in your insurance, I will be able to provide you with a monthly superbill. You can contact your insurance plan to verify if you have Out of Network coverage. EAP coverage available for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue employees & their families. EAP Lyra or Spring Health also accepted through EAP benefits.

Why would I choose to pay private pay instead of using my insurance benefits?

Private pay is a better fit for some, especially when privacy is a priority. Most insurance companies dictate treatment and require a diagnosis/label, as well as become very strict on limiting session length. Also, many clients, despite the therapist doing everything right, still end up paying the bill. Given the unpredictability of insurance coverage, I’ve chosen to charge out of pocket to avoid any surprise bills that may come your way. This allows more individualized care for you!

How do I set up an initial appointment?

A free 15-minute phone consultation can be scheduled to make sure we are a good fit. The consultation can be scheduled by sending an email, texting or calling (561) 440-2487, or booking directly on the website. Once the consultation is completed, we will schedule our initial appointment.

What is your cancellation policy?

Consistency of sessions are directly correlated with client success, but I know the unexpected can happen. You must cancel at least 24 hours in advance and the session will not be charged. Telehealth can become an option if clinically appropriate and client agrees. If the appointment is missed, the full fee will be charged to the credit/debit card on file.

How much paperwork do I have to fill out?

Once you schedule your initial appointment, I will send your paperwork via a secure client portal to your preferred email.

You will complete an intake form. You will be required to sign forms related to your rights and responsibilities, practice policies and consent for services. Your forms will be reviewed with you at your first appointment, and you are also welcome to call if questions come up, as you complete the forms.

What can I expect in a first session?

The initial session will be to get to know you (and/or your partner) and better assess what brings you to therapy. I will also assess your strengths and current coping skills. This will help me create a better treatment plan for you to be successful. Additionally, your forms will be reviewed, to make sure that you understand your rights and expectations in treatment. For couples therapy, a relationship history interview will be completed per Gottman Couples Method protocol and recommendation.

What can I expect during the free 15-minute phone consultation?

Once you schedule the free 15-minute phone consultation, I will be calling your preferred number at your scheduled date and time. I will ask questions to learn more about your situation and specific needs. I will explain how therapy services may assist you in meeting your desired goals. I will answer any questions you may have, as well as identify if we are a good fit to begin therapy services together.

What is your ideal client?

Although I would love to work with anyone who reaches out for help, my ideal client would be the couple and those seeking individual services related to relational challenges. I have a passion for helping relationships heal and thrive. There is something special about healing a couple and an individual to invoke change in the whole family system. I absolutely love individual work as well, especially when the presenting concern is related to relationships with their intimate partner and increasing self-worth/self-esteem and healing from negative experiences. After all, “hating things about ourselves, cripples our ability to love others.”
